“Take A Second Look” School Tour 2010

On Wednesday, February 24th, we invited our prospective parents back for a tour of our School wide Enrichment Program (SEM) program and for a Q&A session with Mrs. Guido. Over 50 families attended and the event was very well received by all! This event was wonderful opportunity to meet some of our new families and to show case our current students and their many varied interests. Mrs. Guido did a wonderful job or conveying what an active, diverse and rich community 278 is and we are all looking forward to welcoming our new families next year.

Title 1 Dance 2010

On Friday, February 5th the Title I Committee hosted the Family Dinner Dance in the School’s Cafeteria. What a blast! We started the evening by eating a delicious dinner which included 3 different kinds of rice, 4 different kinds of chicken, fresh fruit and salad and a selection of delicious desserts! Then, the DJ started to play and we all put on our dancing shoes and boogied the night away! Many thanks to our Title I Committee, the kitchen staff and all who attended for making this a celebration to remember!

Cultural Event 2010

On Wednesday, February 3rd, the students, teachers, faculty and parents of PS/MS 278 celebrated the many wonderful cultures of our school community! The event highlighted the things that make us unique, but also reminded us of what binds us together.

As an enthusiastic crowd cheered, the students performed in a magnificent program that honored the heritages and traditions of countries like the Dominican Republic, Spain, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Albania and Pakistan. They danced, sang, read to us in their native languages, and dressed in beautifully hand-crafted crafted costumes. Congratulations to all who participated in this magnificent and inspirational tribute to our 278 family!
