Holiday Concert 2012

Mr. Quinto and all the wonderful performers at 278 came together on 12/19 to celebrate their musical accomplishments and the upcoming holidays!  There were amazing solo performances, our brand new Choir sang and of course the Kindergarten strutted their stuff on the stage in their very first performance.  The event was a delight!  Special shout out to Mr. Quinto, the classroom teachers and the 7th grade runners who all made this a “show to remember”.

Tuesdays at 278 Holiday Sing-a-long

On December 11, 2012 our 278 classes had a Holiday sign along with our parents and volunteers – they heard about holiday traditions all over the world and sang their little hearts out.  A big thank you to our parent volunteers who made this an exciting afternoon of song!

Spoons Across America at 278

In October , Mr. Feltman secured a grant from Spoons Across America (spoonsacrossamerica.org).  During their time in our school, they gave our third grade students an opportunity to taste and describe the  following powders:  salt, sugar, cocoa powder and ascorbic  acid.  They also sampled four varieties of apples and described each of them using their five senses.  The third graders were actively engaged and loved this interactive experience!  A big thank you to Mr. Feltman for making this a very successful program at 278 this year!
