Mulch-O-Mania 2016

The outside of the school looked a little more beautiful on Monday morning, November 21. Several PTA dads worked with Tony and Miguel of the New York Restoration Project to lay a healthy bed of compost and wood chips for our trees out front and out back of the school. Here is a quick snap shot of the team as they finished their work Sunday morning.

Walk-a-thon 2016

Every year PSMS 278 students and teachers solicit pledges from the community and then walk the track at the Lawrence A. Wien Stadium at Columbia University. This year the students walked on November 14. We had fantastic weather but we are not finished raising money to support arts programs in our school! Please share your accomplishment to inspire contributions from friends and family. All contributions submitted by December 1 qualify students for these exciting rewards:

1st Prize- New Bike
2nd Prize- $50 Target Gift Certificate
3rd Prize- $20 iTunes Gift Card
Class Party for the top earning Class
1st Prize- Samsung 7-inch Tablet
2nd Prize- $50 Target Gift Certificate

Three easy ways to collect pledges:

  1. Send cash or check (payable to PTA of PSMS278) in with your student and their completed fundraising form (sent home in back packs)
  2. Fulfill your pledges through our online payment portal. Simply add your student’s name in the “In Honor of” field and Designate your donation to “Arts Walk” (example below)                                         donate-snip
  3. Create your own personal crowdrise page to share with friends and family members via email and social media.

Pledges of any amount are welcome but we have created the following bench marks to help you motivate potential donors:

Thank You to our Volunteers, Families and Local Businesses!

What an exciting Fall so far! The PTA would like to take a moment to thank all of you who volunteered during our many events this fall. A hearty thank you to the parents who donated their time and/or resources to the Dues Drive, Movie Night, Book Fair, Picture Day and Community Dinner.

This is an admittedly busy time for our school and your families but everyone on the Executive Board is excited to see how our community continues to rise to the challenge.

We could not do it without you.
