I have been a PSMS278 parent since 2009, and I currently have two sixth graders at the school. My husband and I have lived in Inwood since 1997 and feel lucky to have landed here. I have enjoyed being part of the 278 community in various ways over the years, and am happy to step up to the plate this year. In my professional life I run an organizing business, a skill set which has come in handy both as a mom and a member of the PTA.
My family moved to Inwood in Sept 2015 from Brooklyn with one son who is in 2nd grade. I work full time at the Whitney Museum of American Art and am currently working on a masters degree in Art Education. I am looking forward to working with the parents and guardians of PSMS278 and all the PTA members to help with the activities we have planned for the year.
My husband and I are proud parents of two PS/MS 278 students (3 rd and 6 th grades). PS/MS 278 has been very good to us. Our children have flourished, the teachers are wonderful and the community has enhanced our lives in ways I never expected. I have been an active member of the PTA since my son was in Kindergarten and this is my second stint as PTA co-Secretary. I am very excited to be a part of the PTA EB this year and am grateful for the opportunity to help support the school and the teachers. In my other life, I am the Associate Vice President for Housing at Harlem United, a non-profit, social service agency based in Harlem that serves the homeless and other low-income members of our community.
Hola! I’m a Proud Mami of two amazing girls, one 1st grader and one 5th grader. My husband and I moved to Inwood 12 years ago; we love this community. I enjoy being part of the PS/MS 278 Family and being involved with the school activities and PTA events. Our school always put emphasis on making all the parents feel welcome, and now I have the opportunity to help some parents be part of the PTA conversation. Happy to do it!
501(c)(3) Committee Co-Chair
I am the parent of both a sixth grader and a third grader at 278. We have lived in Inwood for 17 years and have loved being actively involved in the community here. With a hybrid background as a classical musician and in business, I now am now a nonprofit administrator specializing in fundraising for the arts, arts education and youth development. I am delighted to put this experience to work on behalf of the school. It’s a privilege to be collaborating with this fine group of people, and we are thrilled to be a part of the PS/MS 278 family!
